About OpenRole
Candidates ask AI about your company
before they ever visit your careers page.
OpenRole shows you exactly what ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Copilot tell candidates about your company — then helps you publish the data that corrects the record.
The problem
The way candidates research employers has fundamentally changed. Google is no longer the first stop. Candidates now ask AI search engines — ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot — direct questions about salary, culture, benefits, and interview processes. And they trust the answers.
Zero visibility
Most employers have no idea what AI tells candidates about them. There's no dashboard, no alert, no way to check — until now.
Zero control
AI defaults to third-party sources — Glassdoor reviews, Reddit threads, outdated news articles. The employer doesn't get a say.
Real cost
When AI gets your salary wrong or omits your benefits, candidates self-select out. You never see the application that didn't happen.
We've audited 580+ UK employers. The average AI Employer Visibility Score is 40 out of 100. Over 70% of employer data in AI responses comes from sources the company doesn't control. Salary data is missing or unverifiable for the majority. This isn't a theoretical problem — it's happening to every employer, right now.
What OpenRole does
OpenRole is an AI employer audit and visibility platform. We query the same AI models candidates use, analyse what comes back, and give employers the tools to publish structured, machine-readable data that AI cites instead of third-party guesswork.
Audit
We query ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, and Gemini with the same questions candidates ask — salary, culture, benefits, interview process. You see the raw responses, word for word.
Score
We score your AI employer visibility across citation accuracy, data completeness, source control, and technical readiness. You get a clear picture of where you stand relative to competitors.
Fix
We generate structured employer data — llms.txt files, JSON-LD schemas, optimised profiles — that makes your verified facts the primary source AI models cite.
Monitor
Weekly monitoring across all major AI models. When something changes — a new hallucination, a competitor overtaking you, a citation shifting — you know immediately.
Founded by Troy Samuels
Troy spent over a decade in enterprise sales and talent technology — selling into HR teams, working with ATS providers, and watching how companies invest heavily in employer brand only to have zero control over the channel that increasingly matters most: AI search.
The catalyst was a simple test. He asked ChatGPT about the employer brand of a FTSE 250 company that spends six figures annually on Glassdoor and LinkedIn Talent Solutions. The AI response was generic, partially wrong, and cited no first-party sources. The company had no idea.
He ran the same test across 50 companies. Then 200. Then 580. The pattern was consistent: employers are invisible to AI, and the data AI does surface is overwhelmingly from sources the employer doesn't control.
OpenRole exists to fix that. Not with AI hype or vague promises — with structured data, rigorous audits, and measurable improvements in what AI models actually say about your company.

Our mission
Help every employer own their narrative in AI search.
What we believe
Employers hold the ground truth about what it's like to work at their company — salary bands, benefits, culture, interview process. The problem isn't the data. It's that the data isn't published in a format AI can find, read, and cite.
Where we're going
AI search will only grow. Within two years, a majority of candidate research will start with an AI query, not a Google search. Employers who publish structured, machine-readable data now will own the narrative. Those who don't will be defined by whatever AI scrapes from third parties.
